Launch of the Corvus Pelican Hydrogen Fuel Cell System.

The PEM based hydrogen fuel cell is based upon fuel cell technology from world leader Toyota. It is the first marine fuel cell system to be completely inherently gas safe, which means it can be placed in any machinery room without additional safety measures. The Corvus pelican Fuel cell will work as a range extender for zero emission operations where zero-emission operation is not possible by battery alone.

In January 2023 Corvus Energy celebrated the opening of the new battery factory Bellingham, Washington State. The battery factory is located at Fairhaven at the Port of Bellingham and is a key step in the expansion of Corvus`US operations. Governor of Washington, Jay Inslee cut the ribbon to officially open the new Corvus battery factory in Bellingham, WA US accompanied by (Left to right) Ole Jacob Irgens, President Corvus Energy Americas, Anniken Krutnes, Norway`s Ambassador to the USA, Jay Inslee, Governor of Washington, Rick Larsen US representative and Geir Bjørkeli, CEO Corvus

Grand Opening of Fuel Cell Test Site

A dedicated marine and optimized hydrogen fuel cell solution is a vital step toward the decarbonization of shipping. Batteries and fuel cells are complementary products, and they need to work together. The new test site enables testing of battery and fuel cell systems together to ensure they work in perfect harmony for optimal efficiency and extended lifetime. The result of the testing is a system that will give recommendations for the vessel’s crew on the most optimal operation
