Pelikan 2 is the world's first all-electric environmental vessel of its kind, and Oslo now receives one of the most environmentally friendly vessels in the world. The vessel is designed specifically for an effective collection of floating trash, without polluting during its operations. Pelikan 2 efficiently collects trash with the help of a hydraulic basket in the front. It has two cranes as well, one of them to lift heavy objects, and another one with a gripping function. The vessel can easily pick up trash in the beach zones and in otherwise inaccessible areas. The Orca Energy battery pack makes sure the vessel can be operated in 4-5 hours continuously. The vessel also has solar panels powering the navigation instruments on board.
