The Sustaining Engineer reports to the System Engineering Team Lead.  This position is primarily responsible for various internal sustaining engineering activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Planning and implementing engineering change orders
  • Work with a cross disciplinary team of sustaining engineers to resolve Corrective Action Reports using 8D process
  • Respond to internal technical enquiries on released products
  • Participate in DFMEAs and FTAs on the battery system designs
  • Perform second sourcing, cost reduction, and other sustaining engineering activities
  • Support engineers in the field with troubleshooting advise and background analysis
  • Occasional travel to customer sites to discuss technical aspect of products and/or support commissioning or service activities
  • Comply with Corvus procedures for configuration management and product data management (engineering change orders, revision management, etc.)
  • Other duties as required

 

Qualifications:

  • Engineering degree (BASc or MASc) or equivalent with 3+ years relevant experience
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Strong relationship/interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Experience with mechanical and/or electrical design is an asset
  • Hands on experience building and reworking circuit boards, both through hole and surface mount is an asset
  • Simulation experience (electrical circuit, mechanical, or fluids) is an asset
  • Experience with PDM and change control
  • Experience in the marine industry or marine product development is an asset
