Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the “game changing” innovations that Corvus has become recognized for.
  • Interact with other engineering disciplines including Electrical Engineering, System Engineering, Test Engineering, as well as working with Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and Project Management
  • Communicate with vendors to develop volume manufacturable designs in Plastics, Castings, Extrusions, Brazed Assemblies, Sheet Metal, Machined Parts, etc.
  • Design and build prototypes, test jigs, and fixtures to prove out concepts and determine performance or feasibility of designs. Perform the tests, record and present the results.
  • Provide design services for new and upcoming products: Example: Strength Analysis, Thermal management designs, Fluid Flow Design, Bus Bar Design, Battery Tab Welding, Power Connector design, etc.
  • Work with our manufacturing group to optimize designs for assembly.
  • Work well as an individual with minimal supervision or as part of a small agile multi-disciplinary design team.
  • Other duties as required

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or BSc in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • 5+ years’ experience in a product development/manufacturing company
  • Proficient at SolidWorks and 3D CAD Software
  • Hands-on experience building prototypes, test jigs, and fixtures
  • Experience in the following: FEA analysis, DFMEA’s, PDM and volume manufacturing

To start, this is a one (1) year contract position with the possibility of extension or conversion to full time.
