Corvus Energy Fuel Cell Systems

Leveraging on our unparalleled track record within maritime zero emission solutions, the hydrogen fueled Corvus Energy Fuel Cell System (FCS) will help our customers to take climate friendly operations even further. The building block of our fuel cell system is a PEM fuel cell module, supplied by Toyota. As a world leading fuel cell manufacturer, Toyota ensures top quality, safety, and market availability.

The Corvus Energy Fuel Cell System is under development with selected pilot projects and type approval scheduled in 2023. The product is commercially available for delivery from 2024.

Applications

The Corvus Energy Fuel Cell system can serve as the main power source or as an additional power source to increase fuel flexibility onboard. With water being the only exhaust, the Corvus Fuel Cell will allow your ship to operate in any harbor and protected area today and in the future.

Combining Fuel Cells and Batteries

Corvus Energy fuel cells are ideally combined with Corvus Energy batteries to form a hybrid power system. Corvus Energy has developed the Fuel Cell Battery Information System (FCBIS) software for our fuel cell and battery systems, which will support system integrators to optimally distribute power between fuel cells and batteries. The results are prolonged lifetime, more efficient operation, simplified integration effort and total cost of ownership.

Designed for easy integration and efficient maintenance

The FCS will include complete balance of plant equipment, reducing interfaces for newbuildings and retrofits. This allows for smooth and efficient integration with ship side systems. When the fuel cell stack and other vital components have reached the end of its service interval, the fuel cell modules can be replaced on-site with new modules or from an exchange pool of refurbished modules. The FCS can also be containerized.
