Responsibilities:

  • Must be able to work the afternoon shift from 3:30 pm to midnight Monday through Friday.

  • Operate various hand and power tools

Reporting to the Production Team Lead, the Mechanical Assembler is responsible for the assembly of mechanical and electronic components and final product testing. Attention to detail, quality awareness and team focus are key assets.

Responsibilities: 

  • Assemble mechanical and electronic components
  • Follow production procedures and Team Lead instructions
  • Conduct product testing on battery packs
  • Perform in-process inspection paying close attention to detail
  • Perform routine equipment maintenance and limited troubleshooting activities as required
  • Ensure all work is performed safely, adhering to company safety policies and procedures
  • Inspect and maintain tools required for the job

Requirements:

Summary:

Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Production Team Lead, Afternoon Shift, is directly involved and responsible for the assembly of mechanical, electronic and final product testing. This Team Lead is responsible for configuring and developing the manufacturing processes and other essential operational tasks.  The Team Lead is responsible for managing the production staff and manufacturing process to ensure production goals are met.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and direct activities on the assembly lines to deliver to the production schedule.
  • Be the gate keeper of product quality. Raise concerns quickly, lead activities to identify root cause corrective actions, and be part a lead problem solver.
  • Assist in the creation, training and implementation of standardized work processes and a 5S environment.
  • Drive your team to implement continuous improvements.
  • Coach, develop team members and perform employee reviews as required.
  • Own the production metrics and be accountable for each reporting accuracy and timeliness.
  • Ensure all work is performed safely, adhering to all procedures relating to the Health and Safety of the facility.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a production technician and at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
  • Must be able to work the afternoon shift from 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm
  • A self-motivated individual, with the ability to deal with individual and team behaviors.
  • A leader that can motivate others through advice and experience.
  • Experienced in assembling electro-mechanical products.
  • Experienced with managing ESD sensitive components.
  • You should be familiar with, and firmly believe in, the principles of Lean Manufacturing and in the value of continuous improvement.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal & organizational skills.
  • Proficient in using production problem solving techniques.
  • Be proficient with standard MS Office software (Must be very proficient in Excel, etc.)

Assets:

  • Possess a technical certification or diploma in a technical area.
  • Previous experience with Netsuite ERP.

Position Summary :

Reporting to the Production Team Lead, the Production Technician is responsible for the assembly of mechanical and electrical components as well as final product testing. Candidates must be willing to move to a multi-shift work schedule, if needed. The candidate is expected to assist in developing the manufacturing processes. Attention to detail, quality awareness and team focus are your key assets.

Responsibilities:

  • Assembly of mechanical and electronic components.
  • Awareness of ESD sensitive component handling.
  • Conduct product testing on battery packs (requires an awareness of working around heavy duty electrical equipment).
  • Be actively involved in continuous improvement activities.
  • Implement and maintain 5S in your work area.
  • Show attention to detail.
  • Perform in-process inspection.
  • Be physically able to lift 20kg without assistance.
  • Perform routine equipment maintenance and limited troubleshooting activities as required.
  • Provides technical assistance and guidance to other personnel.
  • Provide training, when necessary, to new technicians.
  • Contribute to the development of standardized work instructions.
  • Ensure all work is performed safely, adhering to all company safety policies and procedures.
